Did you know that 1 in every 20 Aussie kids face a birth defect or genetic disease?

In fact, genetic diseases are one of the leading causes of death in kids under four and the main cause of ongoing hospitalisation.

Jeans for Genes was established in 1994 by Children’s Medical Research Institute to fund revolutionary research that helps diagnose, understand, and find cures or treatments for conditions affecting kids, including genetic diseases, cancer, and epilepsy.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the fundraising goal through Jeans for Genes is $25 million – enough to create a new centre of collaboration, bringing world-leading scientists and doctors together to help Australian kids with genetic disease.

The Children’s Medical Research Institute is dedicated to finding ways to treat or prevent childhood diseases in order to create brighter futures for all children including those who are with us today & those yet to come in to this world.

Your support can help kids in Quinn

Jeans for Genes

A rare genetic disease, ML4, may have stolen Quinn’s voice, but not his ‘wicked’ giggle.

His disease makes simple tasks like eating or sitting difficult, and there is no cure. His mum, Sasha, hopes for a future where her son others living with the disease can be treated.

“Science and medicine is moving so quickly, especially since genotyping. We live in hope that something will become available in Quinn’s lifetime.”

Read Quinn’s full story and help kids in Quinn by making a donation today.
