What's Happening at Unicare?

ACSA Conference 2015

ACSA Conference 2015

Unicare Health was honored to join ACSA and IAHSA by exhibiting at their joint conference in Perth between 31st August and 4th September. The 2015 Conference theme, “Global Communities Coming Together”, is a fitting description of what happened during the conference – connecting the diversity and independence of aged care around the globe when those who are committed to ensuring the highest quality of life, care and support for our world’s elders come together to learn, innovate and share.

Australia is a leader in aged care and this conference presented the perfect opportunity for those of us working with older people to learn from each other.

Chris Loy, Area Sales Manager from Wissner-Bosserhoff in Germany, was an inspirational addition to the Unicare team during the event, showcasing our range of WiBo Beds. Chris and the Unicare team were privileged to speak to many of the 600 delegates attending the conference and we look forward to fostering these relationships further.

Wissner-Bosserhoff pursues a clearly defined objective: To support the desires and needs of people in intensive care with innovative and functional products. Knowledge concerning our growing life expectancy increasingly changes our awareness of the older generation. We are confronted with a transformation in values, which has new and exciting tasks in store. To meet the new culture of the aged, the quality of life of the elderly, especially those in need of care, needs to be raised to a new level. This is challenge is embraced by Wissner-Bosserhoff through their innovative range of beds.

Low nursing home beds can reduce the danger of falls even for particularly active residents, and increase their safety in the sleep phase. This means that the requirements of the fall prophylaxis expert standard are fully met: Risks and the resulting danger of falls, often with serious consequences, are actively tackled. In the low position, the Sentida can be moved on freely movable castors, even sideways.

The nursing room is frequently the final living room for a person in need of care. In this phase the nursing home bed takes on a central significance and becomes the main focal point for the well-being and dignity of a resident. Comfort, coziness and the function of the nursing home bed play the largest roles here. The Carisma nursing home bed was developed with these aspects in mind.  It is also available in a wider version with a 300kg weight capacity to cater for the bariatric patient.
