Meet Geoff Thomas – Ward and Clinic product specialist at Unicare Health. Geoff had a busy week visiting hospitals in the wheatbelt region of Western Australia, bringing them new specialist hospital carts and equipment. Some of the places he’s been on this trip include Pingelly, Corrigin, Lake Grace, Brookton and Esperance.
The wheatbelt region, like many other rural and remote areas in Western Australia, share common traits such as older populations, higher levels of health risks and higher rates of disease, chronic disease and injury. People living in these areas generally have less access to health services with shortages of almost all health professions and health-related infrastructure.
