- Slings should be checked before each use for any signs of deterioration.
- Labels need to be completely attached, clear, legible and can be understood.
- Straps should have all stitching in place with no broken or worn stitches.
- Straps should be completely intact with no fraying, cuts or tears.
- The main fabric of the sling should be free from tears, holes, thinning or even stains as continual exposure to body fluids can breakdown the material causing weak spots.
- Check that the binding is in place and not worn or frayed.
