National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) 2019 Annual Conference
St. Louis Union Station Hotel, St Louis, Missouri, USA
1-2 March 2019
The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) serves as the authoritative voice for improved patient outcomes in pressure injury prevention and treatment through public policy, education and research.
This year’s annual conference focusses on innovative research and practice across populations and highlights
– innovative research related to pressure injuries across populations
– effective clinical strategies for prevention and treatment of pressure injuries in special populations
– the Support Surface Standardization Initiative (S3I) in clinical practice.
Speakers at the conference will be presenting emerging research and implementation strategies that will challenge the world to achieve a new level of excellence in pressure management.
Attending clinicians and policy makers are set to benefit from the Support Surface Standards Initiative and new support surface standards. Posters and oral presentations will provide emerging research and best practices in pressure care from across the globe.
Unicare Health’s clinical educator Annette Terranova is currently travelling to America to attend this conference and will share her new found knowledge, industry updates and best practices to clinical teams in Perth via training events later this year.
“As market leaders, we continually update our knowledge base with best practices from around the world and educate our large following of partnering therapists with the best solutions in pressure care. Our initiative #stopthepressure was launched last year with a mission to stop pressure injuries from happening in WA’s healthcare industry through education. Over 500 West Australian therapists, clinicians and care staff improved their pressure care knowledge through #stopthepressure, making it one of the most successful education initiatives put in motion.”
