Unicare Health is committed to supporting causes that reflect our company values of “accepting people as they are, treating them with respect and dignity and recognizing everyone as a unique individual with unique needs”. The Perth Special Children’s Christmas Party was a perfect opportunity for Unicare Health to provide sponsorship and demonstrate appreciation for the input that parents and carers provide throughout the year for children with special needs in WA.
Held on Saturday 14th November, the children enjoyed many activities including making tree decorations and cards, face painting, balloon twisting, cuddling animals at the animal farm, dodgem cars, merry go rounds, visits from Elsa and Anna from Frozen, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and the Transformers. Santa Claus also made an appearance at the event, arriving on a Harley Davidson motorcycle having left his reindeer grazing down south! Refreshments were provided and a continual show performed by local dance school and singing talent on the stage. A special feature this year was the “Toy Cave”, where children were able to choose from a vast array of toys provided by sponsors such as Unicare Health. The smiles on the children’s faces as they exited the toy cave were very special, and the joy from all the kids as they left, tired and sticky, reminded us again that everyone is a unique individual with unique needs.
