Overview:

Finding the right match between lifestyle needs and type of chair in aged care is often a challenge. In an aged care setting, it is impractical to consider conventional seating methods. Circulatory benefits, rehabilitation needs, posture support and pressure care needs are just a few physical factors that need be taken into consideration when prescribing seating and positioning. Daily living challenges such as facilitating eating, manual transferring, mobility and infection control etc. are also factors be addressed.

About this seminar:

The purpose of this seminar is to educate health professionals working in hospitals and aged care, the management techniques surrounding seating and positioning. To seat and position a client effectively, the principles of positioning and seating intervention as related to the aged must be revisited and impact factors addressed. New aged care seating equipment functionalities are becoming increasingly advanced. For best outcomes to be achieved, being up-to-date with aged care seating strategies and effective use of equipment functions is essential.

This seminar is FREE of charge and we encourage all aged care therapists, clinicians and carers to attend.
