Coronavirus Update
Unicare Health would like you to know that, although we are challenged like most businesses to cope with unprecedented changes caused by the uncertainty of the Coronavirus pandemic, we haven’t forgotten about you.
Your wellbeing is our priority
While we continue to implement measures recommended by the Australian Government to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus, we have not forgotten that
- the elderly and those living with disabilities are dependent on our equipment and services to function
- clinical challenges such as pressure injuries continue to be a high-risk factor especially with hospital staff working under pressure
- patients discharged from hospitals are dependent on our equipment for rehabilitation and daily function such as toileting and mobility management
- reduced care staff in the community will result in families becoming more dependent on equipment to create safe living environments for their loved ones, especially those receiving palliative care
- and more …
What this means for you
While many businesses have chosen to cancel all in-person consults and implement no contact deliveries to limit the exposure of the Coronavirus, we have made your wellbeing our priority and have implemented policies to provide you with the essential services you require in a safe and responsible manner.
How we will provide you with Essential Services
Being a responsible person before we visit
Unicare Health staff are currently clear of COVID-19, and we have implemented all measures to help stop the spread. We are monitoring the situation daily and continuing to update our policies as new regulations are announced by the Australian Government.
Please see our COVID-19 Risk Management Policy. We are committed to updating this regularly to keep you informed.
Being a responsible business during our visit
Unicare Health will comply with all government and facility regulations when we visit you.
Our staff will continue to provide you with in-person consults, product trials and equipment setup services if it is an essential service to support your wellbeing.
Our delivery drivers will never drop off a lift-recline chair or nursing bed at your doorstep if we know you’re aged and living alone.
We are willing to conduct product trials outdoors if preferred and feasible.
Respecting your choice of communication
Unicare Health will respect your choice of communication and do our best to communicate with you based on your preferences.
Our staff are setup to provide Skype Video Calls to assist you with equipment selection, demonstrations, setup, troubleshooting, training and more. All you have to do is ask.
If you are unwell or affected by the Coronavirus
We ask that you advise us if you are currently unwell, travelled in the last 2 weeks or if there is any risk we should be aware of before visiting you.
Unicare Health has guidelines and policies in place and will adopt solutions to suit every unique situation to deliver the essential services and equipment you need.
Our support for aged care and disability providers
Unicare Health acknowledges that it is a challenging time for aged care and disability providers to ensure continuity of business and cashflow. For any who may be placing CAPEX purchases on hold, please be assured we are here to assist with:

We have a large rental fleet of equipment available for long or short-term hire, to get you through these uncertain times. Our rental equipment goes through strict disinfection processes for your peace of mind.
Equipment Support
Our Support department has qualified technicians, parts and equipment to provide repairs, service and maintenance to your existing equipment to keep you going.
Our support for community aged care and disability
Our showroom doors remain open during normal business hours to provide you with access to essential services and equipment.
Our staff will adhere to responsible measures such as social distancing when assisting you.
If you would prefer not to enter our premises to collect essential equipment, we can look after your needs while you wait in your vehicle.
Our COVID-19 Risk Management Policy
Our COVID-19 Risk Management Policy outlines how Unicare Health management and staff are working together vigilantly to mitigate the risk of any transmission of the disease within our own staff, and to any person we come in contact with during the course of business.
We understand this to be a rapidly evolving situation and are committed to updating our policy regularly to keep you informed.
