Have a Go Day is a free annual community event for seniors, featuring age friendly entertainment and a wide variety of activities to encourage social inclusion and connect seniors to community clubs, groups and organisations.
Organized by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA, Have A Go Day is one of the largest, oldest and most participated seniors’ community event in Perth.
Traditionally springing to life in strong numbers, Have a Go Day saw thousands of participants patronizing more than 170 exhibiting stalls on the banks of the picturesque swan river.
Annette, Llew and Pearl had a great time setting up a welcoming Unicare Health outdoor display for seniors wanting to learn more about assistive living products to support their aging at home and in the community.
On display were seat walkers, mobility aids, mobility scooters and lots of home care products to promote safe and independent living at home for longer.
Many enthusiastic seniors took advantage of the opportunity to hop into a mobility scooter, play with tap turners and needle threaders and asked for an introduction to products that assist with aging conditions such as arthritis, dementia and incontinence.
A significant amount of positive feedback was received and lots of seniors were amazed by the number of intelligent assistive products they didn’t know existed.
Unicare Health would like to say a big thank you to Seniors Recreation Council of WA for having us at Perth’s largest outdoor expo for seniors and for giving us the chance to teach seniors how to live independent lives for longer by providing free information and advice about using assistive living aids.
