Unicare Health received a big thankyou from South West Occupational Therapy Professional Development Group and WA Country Health Service-SW, for the generous sponsorship of, and for exhibiting at the recent South West Equipment Expo held at Eaton Recreation Centre.
A record 239 attended on the day, with 119 health professionals and 120 public, which was a huge increase from the Expo in 2014.
After analysing the 119 feedback forms received on the day and additional emails following the event, there was an overwhelmingly positive response from the health professionals about the quality and range of products in one location, and the efforts suppliers went to provide valuable information. The presentations were also very well received. The public feedback was generally positive too, and, in regards to future planning, the event would definitely be open to the public for the full day in the future.
Most health professional respondees heard about the Expo via email. The public recorded that most heard by word of mouth, followed by newspaper, then email and radio. The newspaper advertising was a 3 page colour feature in the Bunbury Herald on 14 Oct and a poster advert in the Busselton Dunsborough Times on 14 Oct.
Unicare Health also sponsored the South West Occupational Therapy Professional Development Group OT Week Awards. Deb Wraight from WA Country Health Services – South West won the Mentoring Award for her outstanding support of OTs in the region and wider WA, as well as her innovative and tireless work in connecting OTs with information about assistive equipment including being the innovator and prime driver of the SW Equipment Expo.
