Burswood On Swan
Burswood On Swan provided a stunning venue that saw the gathering of our leading industry partners at “The Modern Patient Today” – an educational event with a focus on Pressure Injuries, Falls, Continence and the Bariatric Patient.
Keynote Speaker Tracy Nowicki championed the education program for the day, making a roll with the audience with engaging case studies and letting them into eye-opening patient situations she’s personally dealt with in her course of work.
A highly sought after and dynamic speaker, Tracy is a clinical nurse consultant and educator with Queensland Health, specializing in Pressure Injury Prevention, management of Bariatric Patients, Falls Prevention, Bed Safety, Smart Pump Technology and Risk Management.
Assuming a lead role in Queensland Bariatric Interest Group (QBIG), Tracy is also on the development team for the Pan Pacific Pressure Injury Guidelines and on the review committee for the International Pressure Injury Guidelines. She is a member of the Australian Pressure Injury Alliance Panel (APIAP) and National Standards review committee.
Tracy’s presentations were centred around statistics and evidence-based research on Pressure Injuries, Falls, Continence and the Bariatric Patient, parcelling out best practices that healthcare leaders can adopt to achieve better patient outcomes.
Co-sponsored by Linet – leading global manufacturer and supplier of hospital beds and Medline – global manufacturer and distributor of patient care products, recent innovations in products and equipment to reduce pressure injuries and falls were also an on-demand educational highlight.
Regional Manager for Linet, Milli Banks, provided an insightful presentation on lateral tilt technology and patient positioning techniques using the Latera Thema – a universal hospital bed boasting all the bells and whistles of modern hospital bed technology less the clinical feel.
Keen interest was expressed over the latest Image 3 XXL hospital bed, a versatile bariatric bed that provides a universal solution for the modern 40-320kg patient across hospital departments.
Unicare Health is the sole distributor of award winning Linet hospital beds in Western Australia.
No time was wasted at this high impact educational session. Participants left empowered with new knowledge and strategies to achieve better patient outcomes.
