Unicare Health delivers hands-on workshop for therapists driven to smarten up their shower commode assessment and scripting skills to maximize function, postural control and comfort

Workshop: Shower Commode Scripting Solutions

“It was definitely a hands-on experience for all the therapists who attended our Shower Commode Scripting Workshop on Valentines Day. Participants were taught the skills necessary to script a commode and had fun working with tools to build and customize shower commodes by JUVO Solutions.”

Hosted by Annette Terranova, clinical educator at Unicare Health and Nathan Smith, technical specialist at Juvo Solutions, this workshop demonstrated the JUVOcare commode’s functional flexibility and innovations in product design. Therapists who came along were given the opportunity to explore extensive product range and learn how to capably customize a JUVOcare mobile shower commode.

JUVO Solutions is an Australian design and development company specializing in the manufacture of fully customizable JUVOcare shower commodes to meet the complex and changing needs of commode users. JUVOcare shower commodes are used extensively in Australian hospitals, aged care and disability settings.

From assessment and prescription, to fitting and adjustment, this workshop provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the JUVOcare commode range and appropriate clinical applications of each model.

Participants were given tools to customize a mobile shower commode with accessories to meet various client needs, maximizing function, postural control and comfort.

Participants also enjoyed brainstorming over case study applications, with Nathan Smith demonstrating the functional flexibility of the JUVOcare commode, showing how quick and easy it is to customize Juvo’s range of shower commodes to suit complex modification requests.
