Burswood Park
Earlier this month, the Seniors Recreation Council of WA (SRCWA) held the 28th Have a Go Day at Burswood Park.
Thousands of seniors flocked to the beautiful surrounds of Burswood Park to enjoy the activities and information on display.
Have A Go Day is one of the largest, oldest, and most participated seniors’ community event in Perth.
Bus loads of Perth seniors were seen coming to and from the event all day – a marvellous organizational effort by SRCWA Staff, Have a Go Day Organizing Committee, and a band of amazing volunteers.
The Unicare Health Community team had a wonderful time setting up a welcoming display of assistive technology products for seniors who wanted to learn more about safe and independent living at home and in the community.
Shoprider mobility scooters, Ansa seat walkers, and a range of mobility aids and home care items were on display to promote safe and independent living for seniors.
Shoprider mobility scooters were a hit with seniors looking to upgrade from older models. The state president of the Seniors Recreation Council, Hugh Rogers, had an enjoyable time hopping onto one and taking it for a ride around the show!
Many enthusiastic seniors took advantage of the opportunity to have a go with easy pour kettles, tap turners and various kitchen aids and learned about new products designed to assist with aging conditions such as arthritis, dementia, and incontinence.
A significant amount of positive feedback was received and lots of seniors were amazed by the number of intelligent assistive products they did not know existed.
Unicare Health enjoyed a bustling time at the show and would like to thank the Seniors Recreation Council of WA for welcoming us every year and for your tremendous effort hosting events to keep Perth seniors connected.
We look forward to being a part of the show again next year.
